Nantua Lake
On my way to the Alps I got bored with driving through endless fields and simply turned left about halfway down France. By chance I came across the most amazing lake with a nice hotel on one side. Nantua in the Jura Mountains - the area was just so beautiful. It was a great but totally accidental find, which made it all the more special. People were out for an evening stroll eating food drinking coffee all in a mellow kind of way. I really liked it. One day it rained and the mist shrouded the lake which was so still. At night the town behind the lake was warm, neon and welcoming. One afternoon I took a drive and ran in alpine pastures and lush forest. Everything was totally quiet and empty. Beautiful rolling greenness, bright blue and green lakes. Amazing.
